Keeping elderly citizens
in our parish informed is a high priority for Sheriff Brent Allain.
The Elderly Services Program was implemented by Sheriff Allain to bridge the
gap between our elderly citizens and law enforcement. This
program utilizes Community Police Officers who have attended 80 hours of
training on assisting elderly citizens with everyday needs and services for
which they may need aide or don't have the means to accomplish alone.
These services include, but are not limited to, picking up prescriptions,
obtaining necessary grocery items, bringing a friend to sit, general
transportation, and alerting the elderly of any possible scams operating in
the area. They also make general house calls to check on the well
being of senior citizens who live alone or are alone during the day.
During visits, officers listen to the concerns of elderly citizens and bring
them back to supervisors where they are addressed. The Community
Police also make themselves visible in high crime areas and also walk
through many of our local businesses to assure both patrons and employees
that Iberville Parish is a safe place to live, work, and do business.
If you have any information regarding the
abuse of the elderly or have any questions you can call Lieutenant Tommy
